Advancements in Modeling Chemically Non-Equilibrium Decaying Arc Plasmas in C-F-O Gas Mixtures

A numerical model was developed for simulating decaying arc plasmas in C- F -O gas mixtures with chemically non-equilibrium (CNE) effects for a fundamental study. The C-F -O gas mixture can be seen for example in <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{CO}_{2}$</tex> contamined with PTFE ablated vapor. Twenty-four species consisting of C-F -O atoms were taken into account with 98 reactions including 49 forward reactions and their backward reactions. The reaction rates were considered to depend on the temperature. A numerical model was developed for simulating decaying arc plasmas in C- F -O gas mixtures with chemically non-equilibrium (CNE) effects for a fundamental study. The C-F -O gas mixture can be seen for example in <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{CO}_{2}$</tex> contamined with PTFE ablated vapor. The reaction rates were considered to depend on the temperature.
