Mitigating Risk in the Digital Age: An Analysis of Security Measures for Cashless Payments in Developing Countries

This study examines one of the most promising new digital money technologies currently on the market, addressing the difficulties these inventions face, and offers plausible solutions. The research identifies touchless payments, mobile wallets, fast money transfers, and biometric identification methods as the main innovations shaping the digital payment landscape by considering many authoritative sources on these topics and scientific articles. However, these advances that promise to address such problems as privacy and security, cyber injustice, regulation, and so forth exist in parallel. Besides the fact that the study provides insights into central bank digital currency (CBDC) capabilities to pave the way for the emergence of new technological trends, foster financial inclusion, implement more strict monetary policy, make cross-border transactions secure, improve people's trust in these kinds of currencies, and find a good balance between public confidence in banks and the role of the government in currency issues. Both the convenience of accessing finance via digital payments and the concerns regarding the areas of privacy and technology literacy that come along with it are highlighted, showing the power of digital payments on the socio-economic landscape. Finally, the paper gives varied methods and strategies for overcoming transaction troubles and can recommend policies that should help in addressing those concerns adequately. Such tools are Fintech cybersecurity solutions, secure architectures for online transactions, data security prescriptions, applications of blockchain technology, and policies to assist financial inclusion and regulation compliance. Blending the wisdom from different sources, this review plays a vital role in setting up the foundations for the future, which allows the creation of a safe, responsible, and sustainable payment ecosystem in a digitized economy and also addresses the needs and potential problems of all actors in the digital economy.
