Calculation and Improvement Method of Inter-Regional Available Transmission Capacity for Power Systems Including Wind Power
The management of power system transmission congestion becomes more complex due to the randomness of wind power. Therefore, it is necessary to propose a method for calculating the available transmission capability (ATC) of power systems that include wind power and seek measures from the load side to alleviate transmission congestion. Firstly, we analyze the calculation principle of the power transfer distribution factor (PTDF) and the load demand response (DR) rule based on maximizing net benefits to customers. Then, we derive a calculation method for inter-regional ATC based on PTDF and design a process for finding the optimal implementation location of DR to solve transmission congestion. Using an improved IEEE-30 system as a basis, we calculate inter-regional ATC values, identify optimal locations for implementing DR in different scenarios, and compare and analyze inter-regional ATC values before and after implementing DR. The results demonstrate that our proposed method effectively solves related problems.
