An Improved EMN Model Based on Enhanced Multiscale Mesh Connectivity and Reduced Transient Solution Complexity

This article proposes an equivalent magnetic network (EMN) model based on hexagonal mesh (HM) for the complex and disordered magnetic flux paths in the stator tooth crown, slot-opening, and air-gap regions of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The integration region of HM permeance is flexibly designed to improve the binding ability of multiple-meshed sizes. In addition, an equivalent air-gap magnetomotive force source (MMF) is introduced at the bottom mesh interface to solve the transient process. This transformation process avoids a large number of mesh node movements during the rotation process of traditional EMN models. To further explore the impact mechanism of the irregularity of magnetic flux lines on model stability and computational accuracy, the successive over relaxation iteration method (SOR) was combined to quickly calculate and analyze electromagnetic parameters under different structural parameters and load conditions. Finally, the PMSM torque test platform was built to verify the feasibility of the modelling approach and the accuracy of the calculation results.
