Analysis of Students Difficulties in Solving Junior High School Mathematics Problems

Analyzing the difficulties faced by students in solving mathematical problems in junior high school is very important to improve mathematics education. Problem-solving is not only the goal of learning mathematics but is the core of learning mathematics. Students who are often trained and accustomed to solving or solving mathematical problems, thinking skills will develop, in addition to developing their thinking skills, basic skills in solving mathematical problems will also develop, not only in solving mathematical problems but in solving problems in everyday life they can solve them without obstacles. The research method in this study is descriptive qualitative. This study aims to describe students' difficulties in solving mathematical problem-solving problems. Based on the test given to students, it was found that the average test result of mathematical problem-solving ability was 62.11 with moderate category. The results of the acquisition of each indicator in mathematical problem solving are for the indicator of understanding the problem with an average of 62.31, for the indicator of planning the solution with an average of 54.32, for the indicator of solving the problem with an average of 42.38 and for the indicator of checking back with an average of 48.64.
