Muon Momentum Calibration in ATLAS
This proceeding presents an update of the muon momentum calibration results in the ATLAS detector using 29 $\text{fb}^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13.6 TeV collected during the LHC 2022 data-taking period. A calibration procedure is developed and applied to simulated data to match the performance observed in real data. The muon momentum scale and resolution are precisely measured using $Z\to\mu\mu$ and $J/\psi\to\mu\mu$ decays. Additionally, a novel feature is employed that utilizes the $Z\to\mu\mu$ resonance to correct for potential charge-dependent momentum biases arising from imperfect knowledge of the detector geometry. This method provides a high-precision calibration of the muon momentum measurement, which is essential for a wide range of physics analyses at ATLAS.
