Dynamics of Perceptions Regarding the Risks of Digital Inculturation of Children

Objective: The study aims to explore the risks of children's digital socialization and inculturation. Method: The study employs methods of statistical data analysis, presenting results that confirm the existence of high risks associated with digital inculturation of children and the desire of parents and societal structures to influence the process of digital socialization (a majority of parents take some form of action to protect their children from harmful online content (81%)). The research is based on statistical data, sociological studies, and reports from 2019 to 2023. Results and Discussion: The risks of digital inculturation are grouped according to the complexity of the consequences (damage): 1) harm to one's health and threat to one's life; 2) harm to moral development (society's values); 3) antisocial behavior, deviance, crime (threat to other individuals and society). Research Implications: A trend towards automating content monitoring, such as through the "Oculus" system, reflects an increasing reliance on technology to control harmful content. Public opinion plays a crucial yet underestimated role in influencing child protection policies, while the study also points to the growing importance of accountability, clarifying the responsibilities of parents, providers, and consumers in ensuring children's digital safety.
