Educational Resilience in the Face of Climate Change

Climate change is increasingly affecting every sector in general; education is no exception. This paper looked into the nexus between climate change and education: the need for climate literacy at schools, and the role schools can play in developing environmental responsibility. This paper examines the unequal impacts of changing climates on the outcomes of schooling in developing countries, which result from how repeated school closures owing to natural disasters prolong the school year and further exacerbate inequity. This paper examines policy responses that focus on making educational systems resilient under conditions of climate change, emphasizing international collaboration in financing infrastructural development that secures educational environments against environmental degradation. The discussion development includes strategic recommendations for points at which educational resilience can be strengthened in the future. Indeed, these will make a case for comprehensive and sustainable approaches aimed at augmenting the capacities of the education system both to resist and adapt to the unfolding challenges wrought by climate variability.
