Dr. Jean L. Bolognia

Jean L. Bolognia, MD, is a Professor of Dermatology and Vice-Chair for Faculty Affairs at the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT. Although she was born a "Hoosier" in the state of Indiana while her father was in graduate school, her formative years were spent in rural western Pennsylvania. Several miles outside a small town with 2000 residents, the majority of her neighbors along rural delivery route #1 were members of her extended family. Growing up in the "sticks" taught her self-reliance and to think more independently. With the advent of consolidations to produce larger regional schools, her bus ride to school became close to an hour. Learning to daydream and how to talk to anyone about anything were the silver linings of these many long rides.
