The article is devoted to the participation of murzas and service Tatars in the Russian-Polish War of 1654–1667. This study is the first attempt to analyze this problem in Russian historiography. Relying primarily on documents of the Military Records Office published in the "Acts of the Moscow State", author determines the informative possibilities of this corpus of sources. Tatars from different regions of Central Russia and the Volga region participated in the war with Poland. In addition to the local army, they served in regiments of "new formation" (raitars, dragoons and soldiers), the importance of which grew as the military conflict developed. The establishment of this fact is a new word in the historiography of the service Tatars, as well as clarification of various circumstances of military service. For citation: Nogmanov A.I.
