New catalog of seismicity in the form of a recurrence model: a case study of Tlemcen Region, Northwest Algeria

Seismic catalogs are very useful in general seismicity studies such as structures, bridges and buried pipelines. In this paper, we suggest a new catalog on the seismicity in a specific region in Algeria, defined by longitudes [-4.5° & 2°] and latitudes [32° & 37.5°]. The used data is taken from the open quake platform. This work takes into account the homogenization of magnitudes, in Mw, through the use of certain empirical relationships. This catalog includes more than 16890 events, constituting a database to the seismicity of this region. The proposed document covers a historical and instrumental period of more than 100 years from 1900 to the present. The established catalog is characterized by the completeness and homogenization of the particular information to the seismicity of the northwest of Algeria over a radius of 300 km around the city of Tlemcen.
