Towards the study of crack spacing on small scale models in reinforced sand concrete
Sand-based reinforced concrete is currently undergoing testing and validation. One primary concern in our Civil Engineering Laboratory at Tahri Mohamed Béchar University is the cracking behavior of this material. To initiate our investigation into cracking patterns, we plan to conduct four-point bending tests on reduced-scale reinforced concrete beams measuring 10x15x60 cm³. By analyzing the spacing of parallel cracks on these beams, we aim to: Determine the maximum, minimum, and average crack spacing. Optimize the distribution of transverse reinforcement to control crack formation. Compare the cracking behavior of sand-based concrete to traditional reinforced concrete.
