Editions of the Geography of the Ancient World in the Old Book Collections of the Satu Mare County Library
In the valuable Old Book Collection of The Satu Mare County Library, among the volumes from the 18th century, there are also several introductory items concerning the geography of the Ancient World (1748, 1777, Introductio in Orbis hodierni Geographicam). They were authored by the evangelical pastor, historian and geographer Tomka Szászky János (born in Slovakia in 1692, considered the editor of the first Hungarian historical atlas). The current paper refers to the editions of the work existing in the Old Book Collection of The Satu Mare County Library, with references also to the circulation of the volumes, which belonged to several owners, among which we highlight the Greek-Catholic Protopope Ioan Hodorean (1856, Giurtelecu Hododului – 1931, Bixad).
