Mechanical behavior of recycled materials used in the base layers of bituminous pavements

The accumulation of industrial wastes stemming has a negative influence on the environment. The adopted procedure aimed to eliminate these undesirable wastes through recycling them by utilizing them in appropriate areas. Over the years, recycled has become one of the most attractive flexible pavement rehabilitation alternatives. Different recycling materials are now available to address specific pavement distresses and structural needs. Recycle materials offers multiple environmental advantages: a saving of natural materials, a sharp reduction in the traffic of heavy goods vehicles transporting these materials and thus a great saving of energy. This work constitutes an experimental contribution to the study of the mechanical behavior of various materials coming from the demolition of the building (concrete, brick and breeze block) for their use in the base layers of the flexible pavements. The primary results obtained are extremely encouraging for optimal incorporation of these recycled materials, in the base layers. The utilization in these materials in the road area has therefore allowed the recycling these wastes, decreasing pollution, and using a minimum product requiring important energy and an economy on layers of surface realized with costly materials (bituminous concrete).
