Evaluation of Antioxidant Activities in Methanolic Stem Bark Extract of Medicinal Plants on Rat Liver Treated with standard H2O2

For the investigation, the rat liver tissue was separated as follows: Untreated (negative) control, Induced sample i.e.H2O2 treated (positive) control, Methanolic stems extract and Methanolic stems extract + H2O2.In vitro conditions with or without oxidative stress were used to investigate both enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants. On the basis of statical analysis the enzymatic and non enzymatic antioxidant activity were drastically decreased in H2O2 treated group compared to untreated control, whereas there was a significant increase in the antioxidants level in the methanolic stems extract treated group with or without methanolic stems extract of three plants. The activity of enzymatic and nonenzymatic antioxidants was analyzed in the homogenate of rat liver. The methanolic stem extract of three medicinal plants rendered potential protection against the oxidative stress induced by peroxide by improving the antioxidant status by means of enzymatic and non enzymatic antioxidants.
