Critical temperature of YxGd1-xBa2Cu3Oy solid solutions
The magnetic modulated microwave absorption (MAMMA) technique has become a powerful method to investigate the behavior of ceramic superconductors. In this work, it was used to measure the superconducting transition temperature of YxGd1-xBa2Cu3Oy solid solutions in a conventional X-band electron paramagnetic resonance spectrometer. The experimental results show that the critical temperature goes through a maximum at x = 0.4. This is consistent with the fact that the critical temperature in ceramic copper-based superconductors tends to increase with the number of copper-oxygen layers per unit cell and may provide new clues on how to increase the critical temperature of ceramic superconductors.
