IMPACT OF LOAD AND LUBRICATION METHOD IN THE AAOCOATING – EN-GJL-250 CAST IRON FRICTION NODEON RESISTANCE TO MOTION

The aim of this work is to determine the effect of lubrication of the AAO coating – EN-GJL-250 cast ironsliding association on the resistance to motion under different load. AAO (anodic aluminum oxide) coatingswere produced on the EN AW-5251 aluminum alloy through the electrochemical method, using constantmanufacturing parameters for all samples. Tribological tests were carried out in reciprocating motion on theT-17 tribological tester with a system for automatic lubrication of the friction node. Tests were carried out withperiodic oil mist lubrication of the friction node every 5, 10, and 15 minutes, and with continuous lubrication, carried out by immersing the friction pair in oil. Three values o f unit pressure were used: 0.5, 1, and 1.5 MPa.The conducted research proved that periodic lubrication of the tested friction node can be as effective ascontinuous lubrication. The tests also showed lower values o f the coefficient of friction (especially at a loadof 0.5 MPa) for periodic lubrication than for continuous lubrication, regardless of the load. The paper presentsthe results of tribological tests and the roughness of AAO coatings, before and after the tribological test. Theresults of tribological tests were supplemented with microscopic tests and statistical analysis.

Abstract

The aim of this work is to determine the effect of lubrication of the AAO coating – EN-GJL-250 cast ironsliding association on the resistance to motion under different load.
