HD 193182: A Bright Twin of the Unusual Be-shell Star HD 94509
Abstract The star HD 94509 was recognized as an extreme example in the class of Be and shell stars because of its unusual late-type shell spectrum and anomalous line profiles. Using high-resolution and high-signal-to-noise ratio spectroscopy obtained with FIberfed Echelle Spectrograph on Nordic Optical Telescope, we investigate whether HD 193182 is a similarly extreme Be-shell star, as suggested by microphotometer tracings obtained in the 1920s and 1940s. Indeed, both stars turn out to be very similar in terms of photospheric and shell spectra. A basic model atmosphere analysis of HD 193182 is performed using non-LTE line formation calculations.
