Genetic Improvement and Variety Selection of Chrysanthemum Based on Big Data
Traditional chrysanthemum varieties are prone to genetic variation and low genetic purity in the breeding process. This article selected representative samples of chrysanthemum plants and collected their whole genome DNA. The whole genome sequencing of chrysanthemum, represented by high-throughput sequencing such as Illumina HiSeq, has obtained a massive amount of sequencing data. Using appropriate assembly tools, the sequencing results are spliced to obtain large and continuous genomic sequences. By integrating the whole genome sequence and traditional genetic data, important genetic characteristics such as genotype and functional genes of chrysanthemum were discovered to draw a genetic map of chrysanthemum. By comparing the whole genome of different varieties of chrysanthemums, their evolutionary history and phylogenetic relationships between species were studied, laying the foundation for the cultivation of new chrysanthemum varieties. In the hybridization experiment between chrysanthemum varieties, the number of offspring from hybrid combination variety A × variety B was 50; the planting adaptability score was 8 points; the yield was 250 flowers per plant. Under the guidance of computer technology, the genetic improvement and variety selection of chrysanthemum based on big data are conducive to the breeding and popularization of chrysanthemum varieties.
