Experimental evaluation of a prototype robot-assisted system for minimally invasive abdominal surgery using radiofrequency ablation as an example

Objective. Improving the quality of robot-assisted surgeries performed by methods of local destruction of liver tumors, reducing trauma for the patient and the load on the operating personnel. Material and methods. A prototype of a robot-assisted complex was developed, and a method for simulating liver tumors on cadaver material was proposed. Preoperative planning, intraoperative preparation, execution of a robot-assisted operation of local destruction on cadaver material, and estimation of numerical results were carried out. Results. The distance between the position of the target area determined by CT examination and the actually detected position ranged from 3.8 mm to 4.9 mm. Conclusion. A set of software and hardware tools for using robot-assisted complexes during preoperative planning, intraoperative preparation, and surgery execution using local destruction methods was proposed and tested.
