Dickens's Political Young Gentlemen

Abstract: In the 1838 sketch "The Political Young Gentleman" Dickens ignores the broad-based consensus of political outlook then shared at the time by many Whigs and Peelite Conservatives, and instead pokes gentle fun at extreme Tory and Radical stereotypes. To do so he refers to several previously un-noted matters then in the news.
