Cristianismo y Derecho del futuro
In the research on the Christian religion as a reserve of meaning for the law of the future, the first one is the specific contribution in the defense of the social and political value of fraternity, without which social bonds become fragile and unstable. Freedom, of course, dissolves bonds and equality ignores them. The future requires that fraternity moves from being a rhetorical principle to a legal principle to be present in democratic constitutions and to be able of generating new social institutions welcoming the dignity of the human person. The paradox is that the value of fraternity does not allow complete secularization without losing its meaning. Therefore, we have to answer to what it means to constitutionalize the spirit of fraternity without jeopardizing contemporary pluralism.
