Design of a device for improving the root environment of fruit trees
In order to address the problems of leaching of the soil, destruction of soil structure, and weed growth near the roots as a result of irrigation among fruit trees, a device for improving the root environment has been proposed. It is composed of a fertigation component and a covering component. This device can improve the microenvironment near the roots, protect the soil structure and reduce evaporation of water near the roots, while preventing damaged soil structure and nutrient loss caused by leaching of soil as a result of heavy rain or broad irrigation, in particular in mountainous and arid areas. In addition, by covering the soil on the surface of the roots, weeds can be eliminated, so as to maintain nutrients for trees. It has a simple structure, low manufacturing cost, and is easy to install and use. This device, capable of promoting growth of trees through improving their root environment, is widely applied in cultivation of different kinds of trees, in particular in mountainous areas.
