Research on landscape protection and restoration strategy of Xie village in Cenxi city based on landscape weaving theory
Traditional village is an important carrier of material and intangible culture in China, how to retain the conventional landscape and maintain the vitality of village development is an urgent problem in developing the countryside in the new era. Taking Xie Village in Cenxi City, Guangxi, as an example, this paper identifies the spatial texture, architectural culture, and spatial morphology landscape elements of Xie Village through field research, semi-structured interviews, and ArcGIS technology and concludes that the landscape elements of Xie Village are: (1) the interwoven spatial texture of the house-alley-house; (2) the Lingnan architectural style decorated with brick carvings, stone carvings, wood carvings, and frescoes; and (3) the defensive architectural nodes of the city gates of the southeast, west, and north; (4) The site selection environment is based on mountains and water. It also analyzes the current landscape status of Xie Village at this stage, which has problems such as the traditional landscape being seriously damaged, the imbalance of industrial structure, and the backwardness of infrastructure. Based on this, according to the theory of landscape mending, this paper proposes a landscape mending strategy, starting with the spatial form improvement of Xiecun's landscape features, repair of physical elements, service function enhancement, etc., to provide new ideas for the protection and utilization of Xiecun's traditional village landscapes.
