INTOXICAÇÃO EXÓGENA EM PERNAMBUCO: PERFIL SOCIODEMOGRÁFICO, DISTRIBUIÇÃO ESPACIAL E ANÁLISE TEMPORAL DAS NOTIFICAÇÕES ENTRE 2011 E 2021
To describe the sociodemographic profile, spatial distribution, and temporal analysis of exogenous poisoning notifications in Pernambuco between 2011 and 2021. Methods: This is an ecological study using secondary data from the Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação. Incidence rates were calculated by year, municipality, and Health Region. Descriptive analysis was carried out for the profile and spatial distribution, and the Prais-Winsten method was used for temporal analysis. Results: 95,299 cases were reported, with an average incidence of 9.2 cases/10,000 inhabitants per year. Poisoning occurs mainly at home due to the use of medication, suicide attempts or accidents. Conclusion: Exogenous intoxications mainly affected women and children under 10 years old, with a higher incidence in the Salgueiro Regional Health Department and in the municipality of Afogados da Ingazeira, showing an increasing trend throughout the state.
