TREINAMENTO FUNCIONAL PARA IDOSOS
Population aging presents significant challenges for public health, especially in contexts of poor diet, little social interaction and a sedentary lifestyle, which intensify the aging process. These factors increase the prevalence of chronic diseases, functional disabilities and chronic pain, reducing autonomy and increasing dependence and healthcare costs. Chronic pain, combined with physical inactivity, worsens functional loss and can generate a vicious cycle of pain and reduced mobility. Physical activity, whether systematic or not, is essential to prevent this cycle, improving quality of life, independence and reducing chronic diseases. Regular exercise is more effective than pharmacological treatments in promoting health and functionality, and it is essential to incorporate it into the care of the elderly in hospitals and care centers.
