Polaritons in Photonic Hypercrystals of van der Waals Materials (Adv. Funct. Mater. 41/2024)
Photonic Hypercrystals In article number 2316863, Anshuman Kumar and co-workers demonstrate photonic hypercrystals using α-MoO3, enabling far-field excitation of in-plane hyperbolic phonon polaritons. Precise Bragg mode sampling through periodic hole dimensions and twisting of hypercrystals is demonstrated, offering greater freedom compared to existing methods, paving the way for tunable, high-performance mid-IR photonic devices.
