Environmentally friendly multiferroic properties of 0.8(Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.1Ti0.9O3) -0.2(CoFe2O4) particulate composite

Lead-free magnetoelectric (ME) composites exhibiting significant ME coupling are required for the development of environmentally friendly multifunctional devices. The sol-gel technique is used in this study to synthesize the particulate composite of Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.15Ti0.9O3–CoFe2O4 (BCZT–CFO).XRD structural analysis revealed the existence of both inverse spinel CFO and perovskite BCZT with no impurity peaks. The composite showing both ferroelectric and magnetic properties, which is confirmed by the dielectric graph and M-H loop respectively. The significant dependence of dielectric values on applied magnetic DC bias field provides a means to evaluate the presence of magnetoelectricbehaviour in composite.
