Study on improving the S/N ratio for detecting internal defects in concrete from a moving cart equipped with LDVs

A fundamental verification experiment was conducted to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the movement measurement using the NCAI method when multiple LDVs are arranged in the transverse direction. The experimental results show that the S/N ratio can be improved by adjusting the time position of each LDV using the correlation maximum of the simulated defect area. This indicates that it is possible to improve the moving speed of the moving measurement using the NCAI method.

Abstract

A fundamental verification experiment was conducted to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the movement measurement using the NCAI method when multiple LDVs are arranged in the transverse direction. The experimental results show that the S/N ratio can be improved by adjusting the time position of each LDV using the correlation maximum of the simulated defect area. This indicates that it is possible to improve the moving speed of the moving measurement using the NCAI method.
