A Wide Electronically Tunable Cavity Filter Using Thin-Film Barium-Strontium-Titanate Varactors

A three-pole wide electronically tunable filter based on thin film barium-strontium-titanate varactors is presented. This filter has a wide tuning range about 120% with a low bias voltage of 25V, a stable operating performance and a firm structure. The frequencies of this filter tunes from 518MHz at 0V bias voltage to 1.14GHz at 25V bias voltage and the mid-band insertion loss is 4dB. The 1-dB bandwidth is 24MHz at 518MHz and increase to 52MHz at 1.14GHz. The filter has a high tuning speed.

Abstract

A three-pole wide electronically tunable filter based on thin film barium-strontium-titanate varactors is presented. This filter has a wide tuning range about 120% with a low bias voltage of 25V, a stable operating performance and a firm structure. The frequencies of this filter tunes from 518MHz at 0V bias voltage to 1.14GHz at 25V bias voltage and the mid-band insertion loss is 4dB. The 1-dB bandwidth is 24MHz at 518MHz and increase to 52MHz at 1.14GHz. The filter has a high tuning speed.
