Analytical Design Optimization of Standing Wave Ultrasonic Motors
This paper explores the analytical design optimization of standing wave ultrasonic motors, presenting a methodology for enhancing their performance. Standing wave ultrasonic motors generate stationary vibrations on the stator, driving the rotor through periodic variations in normal and tangential forces. The study aims to minimize frequency differences between bending and expanding modes, achieving optimal displacement with a single-frequency excitation. Incorporating chamfers and systematic adjustments, the research demonstrates the impact on chamfer size and thickness, yielding insights into the relationship with piezoelectric element size. Challenges and opportunities for mass production of ultrasonic motors are also discussed, contributing to advancements in this critical field.
