Smart Power Optimization in Existing Electric Vehicle Charging Station with Solar Energy and Energy Storage Unit
Electric vehicles represent the future of transportation. As the number of EVs increases, the level of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) also rises. This necessitates the use of oversized cables, transformers, and protective devices to prevent a specific type of overload in the electrical system. Incorporating solar panels with an energy storage unit (ESU). Above charging station can reduce the transformer's load during peak demand periods. The EV may be charged using PV (Photovoltaic), grid, ESU, or a combination of the three. By doing this, we can offer EV charging continuously and more affordably. An algorithm has been created to ensure that the electric vehicles are charged continuously and that the quality of the power is maintained throughout the process. The total grid power, solar power, and ESU power used during the day are calculated using a Python application. This concept will be useful for load predictions as well.
