Design and Performance Analysis of Constant Envelope Precoded OFDM Systems
In this letter, we propose a holistic signal construction approach, termed constant envelope-precoded-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CE-P-OFDM), for low-power uplink setups, which consistently achieves both 0 dB peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) and improved power spectral density (PSD) characteristics. More explicitly, the precoding design for the CE-OFDM system is first pursued, followed by the development of three distinct receivers. Through rigorous theoretical analysis and numerical simulations, we illustrate the intrinsic advantages of the proposed scheme when compared to traditional multi-carrier techniques, including orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), discrete Fourier transform-spread-OFDM (DFT-s-OFDM), and CE-based approaches.
