Development of measurement system for reflected surface acoustic wave sensors

A smart, compact, and low-cost measurement system for surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors is required. We considered that the measured reflected signals included desired reflected signals as well as unwanted reflected signals. It is necessary to separate unwanted signals. A window function is used to extract only the reflected signal from the reflector. In this way, a measurement system for a reflective SAW sensor was constructed using an inexpensive nano-VNA and a PC.

Abstract

A smart, compact, and low-cost measurement system for surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors is required. We considered that the measured reflected signals included desired reflected signals as well as unwanted reflected signals. It is necessary to separate unwanted signals. A window function is used to extract only the reflected signal from the reflector. In this way, a measurement system for a reflective SAW sensor was constructed using an inexpensive nano-VNA and a PC.
