Thermochronological constraints on the Cenozoic tectonic evolution of the northeast Rila-West Rhodopes batholith
The Cenozoic tectonic evolution of the Rhodope Metamorphic Complex represents a series of two extensional events separated by a compressional to transpressional tectonics between 25–16 Ma as suggested by the apatite FT dating. Our results support the previous structural and stratigraphic studies and show that the crystalline basement was affected by tectonic burial in latest Oligocene to early Miocene time.
