Bearingless Magnetic-Geared Motor Achieving Both Stable Magnetic Levitation and High Torque
In this study, optimization was conducted on five bearingless magnetic-geared motor models to investigate the structure that generates the highest torque, while ensuring that the suspension force equivalent to the eccentric force on the high-speed rotor (HSR). Furthermore, we investigated the suspension force ripples in the model with the best performance and evaluated the effect of skewing on reducing the suspension force ripples. It has been indicated that the model that has 8 HSR poles, 18 slots, 5 magnetized stator permanent magnets and 58 pole pieces has the potential to achieve both stable magnetic levitation and high torque.
