TS-TCN: An Integrated Architecture for Time-Sensitive Networking and Train Communication Network
The Train Communication Network (TCN), built upon bus or standard Ethernet for communication, constitutes a type of industrial network. However, in the context of future intelligent railways and the integration of multiple train networks, the existing network structure proves inadequate to accommodate the escalating network traffic. Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), an open standard Ethernet technology, emerges as the next-generation solution. TSN not only offers ample bandwidth but also encompasses flexible and comprehensive real-time mechanisms. In light of this, our work delves into the feasibility of implementing TSN within the TCN framework. It outlines the TS-TCN topology and operating mechanism, devises traffic scheduling algorithms tailored to TS-TCN, and develops TS-TRDP component deployed on train end system. Subsequently, the superiority of the TS-TCN solution is verified by constructing a small-scale TS-TCN and executing algorithms.
