Finite Element-Based Analysis of Cryoablation and Pulsed Electric Field Ablation Combined: Physical Fields and Tumor Damage
The high diagnosis rate of breast cancer poses a serious threat to public health. As a promising minimally invasive technique, cryoablation has been effectively applied in the treatment of breast tumors. However, due to the superficial location of the breast, there is a risk of skin frostbite during the ablation process. Insufficient cooling may also lead to incomplete ablation at the freezing margins, which can result in tumor recurrence. To address these challenges, this paper proposes combining cryoablation with electroporation-based ablation to achieve supplementary ablation of the tumor, aiming to maximize tumor destruction while preserving healthy tissue. Finite element methods are employed to simulate the physical fields and conduct damage analysis, predicting the ablation area.
