Assessing the Impact of Taxpoynt Platform on Small Business Tax Compliance through Digitization
This study investigates the utilization of Taxpoynt, an innovative digital platform created to modernize tax collection for small businesses by digitizing and simplifying the process. Through utilizing a combination of technical analysis, user surveys, case studies, performance metrics assessment, and qualitative interviews with stakeholders from small business organizations across different industries and regions in Nigeria, the study assesses the platform's effectiveness in reducing time and errors involved in tax compliance while also exploring its broader impact on operational efficiency. Outcomes reveal that Taxpoynt notably improves efficiency and precision among users within this context. The findings show a 50% decrease in time spent on tax-related tasks with a 40% reduction in error rates for participants using Taxpoynt compared to traditional methods. User responses demonstrate high satisfaction with the platform's easy-to-use interface, available on mobile devices and web browsers. Challenges surfaced during the testing and highlighted initial resistance toward technology adoption among some users as they adjusted to new processes interfacing, alongside potential integration issues experienced when trying to harmonize electronic records between Taxpoynt and existing legacy systems. It is crucial to consider these points to determine the most effective way for small businesses to adopt advanced solutions without causing unnecessary disruption while improving their overall technological capabilities. That will positively impact their revenue margins beyond simplifying tax filing.
