Geological study of granite rocks in Badau Village and Air Mesu Timur Village, Bangka Belitung Islands Province

Abstract The large number of granite mining locations in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province is to meet the needs of building materials to support the construction of facilities. The study was conducted to examine the physical properties of rocks that have been mined and to see the factors that influence both endogenously and exogenously. The methods in this study are geological mapping carried out using mapping methods and sounding methods, geophysical measurements using multichannel S-Fields geoelectric tools, rock sampling, and report preparation. Based on the results of thin sections and megascopic observations, the granite rocks in Badau Village that will be mined have undergone an intensive weathering process with a percentage of 25%, the landform has been eroded from the low surface at a contour of 75 meters above sea level - 200 meters above sea level with a continuous direction from south to north. Meanwhile, granite rocks in Air Mesu Timur Village are classified as granite with moderate resistance or are in a condition of almost experiencing moderate to intensive weathering which dominates along the measurement path interpreted from the granite resistivity cross-section below the ground surface and are classified as strong granite resistance (fresh condition) located above the surface.
