Green Building Assessment: A Case Study of Integrated Laboratory Building Diponegoro University Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing No. 21 of 2021
Abstract Green building is an environmentally friendly building concept that has become increasingly important in addressing issues related to climate change, carbon emissions, and the greenhouse effect. This concept emphasizes reducing energy consumption and improving indoor environmental quality. This study aims to conduct a green assessment of a multi-storey building based on the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing No. 21 of 2021, using an Integrated Laboratory Building of the Engineering Faculty of Diponegoro University as the case study. The research method involves observation, measurement, and analysis based on green building criteria adopted from Ministerial Circular No. 1 of 2022, which provides technical guidelines for assessing the performance of green buildings. The aspects of the assessment in the planning stage of the building include site management, energy efficiency, water efficiency, indoor air quality, environmentally friendly materials, waste management, and wastewater management, with a total of 7 indicators. The results indicate that the building still needs to meet the green building criteria, with a total score of 30 out of 165 points or 18.2%. Recommendations from this study include the need for greater funding allocation for green building initiatives and the integration of green building principles from the early planning stages to ensure compliance with established standards and to maximize environmental and health benefits.
