Cuff-Less Blood Pressure Measurement from Wearable Optical Biosignal

Cuffless Blood Pressure monitoring devices are noninvasive medical devices that measure systolic and diastolic blood pressure (BP) without an inflatable cuff. They are safe, easy to use, and quite accurate for BP measurement in resting state. It is comparable to commercially available mercury based BP measurement machine. Non-invasive methods are getting popular for such measurements since inflatable cuff is not required. In non-invasive method, blood pressure is estimated by exploiting the relationship of blood pressure with various parameters of biological signal. A linear regression model has been applied to find the relationship between clinical blood pressure and various PPG signal features. A dataset of 22 patients has been acquired from the https://physionet.org/ and additionally 108 patient's datasets have been recorded by customized hardware. A linear regression model has been applied to find the relationship between clinical blood pressure and various PPG signal features. Results obtained from our system have been compared with corresponding clinical results and found satisfactory.
