Enabling Reliable Collaboration in Legacy Business Process Systems

In the enterprise technology landscape, integrating isolated business processes from autonomous legacy business process management systems (BPMS) presents significant challenges, especially when extending beyond standalone web applications to broader inter-enterprise collaborations. This paper proposes a novel integration approach using “Delegated Message” -oriented alignment of workflows (BPMN) across enterprises, supple-mented by declarative rules to ensure compliance with global collaborative protocols. Addressing the dynamic nature of open network environments, we explore the impact of these changes on the reliability and stability of service supply chains, emphasizing the need for systems that can adapt rapidly. Our approach also provides a platform for heterogeneous engine interaction, enhancing scalability and applicability for complex enterprise scenarios. This framework offers a strategic blueprint for efficient and reliable cross-enterprise collaboration in dynamically changing business environments.
