Code Conversion of Mobile Application in the New Era of Large Language Models
With the widespread use of mobile applications in daily life, it has become crucial for software companies to develop the applications for the most popular platforms like Android and iOS. Using a native development approach requires having two parallel teams while maintaining two projects. This affects the time and cost of such projects. Cross-platform mobile development like Xamarin and React native emerged as a solution to the mentioned problem of native development for the time and cost. Meanwhile it requires the developers to learn a new language. In this talk, we present a journey of a decade to develop tools for converting the mobile apps from a specific platform to the corresponding platform, taking into consideration the user interface code conversion, library mapping, database code conversion. The evaluation of these tools is presented and the wise use of the new large language models is discussed.
