Digital Contact Tracing Application with a Web-Based Information Management System
The COVID-19 pandemic, which emerged in December 2019, posed unprecedented challenges to global health systems. Despite early efforts by nations such as the United States, China, Germany, and Japan, the virus rapidly spread worldwide. In response, the Philippines implemented various measures including lockdowns, quarantines, and contact tracing to mitigate the pandemic's impact. However, inconsistent contact tracing strategies across local government units hindered effective disease control. This study aimed to develop a unified contact tracing platform applicable to any infectious disease for Cabuyao City, Laguna establishments. The platform would centralize data collection and enable real-time access for the Cabuyao City Health Office (CHO). A quantitative research design, involving usability testing with 30 participants from target establishments and the CHO, evaluated the system's effectiveness. Results demonstrated successful consolidation of visitor health data, provision of real-time statistics for contact tracing, and a user-friendly interface for data updates. To maximize its impact, this platform holds the potential for broader implementation at the national level.
