Analysis of the Usage of Vending Machines Considering the Sell-Out Rate of Products

This paper proposes an analysis method aimed at identifying the appropriate types and number of products to be supplied to vending machines. The sales status of vending machines is determined using the product utilization rate, completion rate, and completion speed. The machines are then grouped into two categories: those with a good product assortment and those with a poor product assortment. The sales rate is compared with that of other machines that have a good assortment and are close to the installation environment. The number of deliveries and types of products appropriate for the poorly stocked machines are then considered to improve their utilization. An application tool that performs a series of analyses is developed and a practical example using actual data is presented.

An application tool that performs a series of analyses is developed and a practical example using actual data is presented.
