IoT-Enabled Precision Agriculture via LoRa for Enhance Water Management in Areas Without Internet Access
This research focuses on developing precision agriculture to enhance water management in areas without internet access via LoRa. The primary problem is the difficulty in identifying leaks in irrigation pipes when distributing water to crops. The researchers developed a system that monitors water flow and controls irrigation. The system includes Node A as the gateway to internet, Node B as the controlling the solenoid valve for water distribution, and Node C as the monitoring water flow in the irrigation pipes. Communication between these nodes via LoRa, which operates effectively in areas without internet access. Blynk application was integrated into the system to provide real-time control and monitoring. During trials, users successfully controlled Node B to open and close the water flow, while Node C monitored the water flow within the pipes via LoRa. This information allowed users to quickly identify any issues, such as leaks or insufficient water reaching the crops. The system supports sustainable farming by collecting valuable data for water resource management and future planning. This data-driven approach helps optimize water usage, ensuring that crops receive the precise amount of water they need while reducing waste. This research demonstrates how integrating Internet of Things technology with traditional agriculture can significantly enhance water management, especially in areas without internet access.
