The article is devoted to the main legal categories characteristics legal relations arising in connection with the implementation and protection of the legal status of citizens in the field of defense and security of the Russian Federation. The problems of legal regulation of the legal status of citizens participating in ensuring defense and security are revealed, and the content of the categorical apparatus of such legal relations is given.
