Simultaneous Use of Social Networks in Buenos Aires
In an environment full of immediate obligations and instant distractions, many believe that multitasking may be advantageous, if not essential, for people. In this setting, mobile phone applications allow users to access the latest technology at the touch of their fingertips. The main goal of this research was to describe the use habits of social networking sites whenever used simultaneously in Buenos Aires. Field work was fulfilled through a non-probability sampling method and it was applied over a population who lives, works or studies in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Data collection was accomplished through an online self-administered cuestionnaire which led to collect a sample of 563 valid cases. The main findings of this research show that there are significant differences between different groups of people. For example, respondents who use social networks while eating present higher simultaneous use than those who do not. The overall results of this research back up previous studies on this subject.
