Exploring Digital Transformation in Bangalore’s Financial Sector: A Focus on Fintech Entrepreneurs

This study investigates the pivotal role of fintech entrepreneurs in driving digital transformation within Bangalore’s financial sector. Employing a sequential exploratory design, the research integrates both qualitative and quantitative methods. Initially, 20 in-depth interviews with fintech entrepreneurs provided rich qualitative insights, which were then used to develop a structured survey administered to 200 professionals in the field. The socio-demographic analysis revealed that the majority of participants were highly educated, experienced professionals, predominantly male, with a strong focus on payment solutions and lending services. The qualitative analysis identified key challenges such as regulatory compliance and technological integration with legacy systems, while also highlighting the strategic importance of emerging technologies like AI and blockchain. Quantitative analysis through regression models and factor analysis further emphasized that these technologies significantly impact digital transformation success. Findings also showed that fintech entrepreneurs face considerable challenges, particularly in regulatory compliance and budget constraints, which are major predictors of the difficulties encountered in implementing digital solutions. Integrated analysis revealed that while fintech innovations are disrupting traditional financial institutions and enhancing customer engagement, successful digital transformation requires supportive regulatory frameworks and strategic collaboration between fintech companies and traditional financial institutions. Based on these findings, the study recommends enhancing regulatory clarity and support to facilitate fintech growth, expanding educational programs to improve digital literacy, and fostering partnerships between fintech firms and traditional financial institutions to drive innovation. Additionally, addressing budget constraints through targeted financial support and investment in scalable digital infrastructures is crucial for sustaining the momentum of digital transformation in Bangalore's financial sector.
